3.) Matters Arising - None
4.) Correspondence received - Christine reported that Anderson Macarthur,Solicitors, had confirmed matters relating to the playpark were now as good as finalised and that work could commence on site.
5.) Parkend playpark - The meeting was shown plans and costings for the modular playpark equipment purchased for Parkend.
(* Andy Cumming entered the meeting at this point.)
6.) Cnoc Dubh site -
Bricks: The meeting agreed to approach Calum Macdonald, Claypark, about acquiring any spare Lews Bricks he may be able to offer the CDRA.
Brick entrance feature: It was further agreed to ask Matt Bruce to prepare an architect’s drawing of the feature in order to obtain tenders for the work.
Pegging out the site: For the avoidance of doubt, it was agreed to ask the Grazing Committee to peg out the play park site as per the plans.
7.) Fund raising - ACE grant: Now out of time.
Town Hall Hypermarket: A stall has been booked for the Town Hall hypermarket in November where we would be allowed to sell baking, baskets and good quality toys. Christine suggested using the opportunity to sell the Bricks newsletter as well.
Bricks Newsletter sales: An Lanntair had sold out and wanted more. Sales at Stornoway Airport had brought in £62. The Tourist Board in Stornoway had returned theirs unsold. Christine had approached the Co-op about selling the newsletter but had been turned down because the newsletter did not have a barcode. However, she was advised to write to Co-op headquarters in the hope that being a one-off publication, the rules might be relaxed.
Grant applications: It was agreed to apply for funding from the Co-op and Children-in-Need.
8.) AOCB -
Point Online: Calum passed on a request from Erica about contactingPoint online to include the CDRA details on their site. However, Taylor said the details had already been added, but that he would double-check.
Village enhancements: It was pointed out that many of the proposed enhancements to the village were being undermined by the poor state of the road. It was agreed that Taylor should pen a letter to Iain Mackinnon, the Comhairle’s Director of Technical Services.
9.) Date of next meeting: Tuesday, November 20 at 7.30 pm
